"The School of Environmental Science and Engineering (SESE) reaches across disciplinary boundaries in its aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of our environment and provide economical and effective engineering solutions to environmental problems.
SESE focuses on ecological renewal and pollution control be it in water, soil, or air. Water and wastewater management, solid and hazardous waste management, including radioactive, biological waste management, and environmental nanotechnology. At the macro-level, the school is looking at improvement in the efficiency of the water supply systems, total urban water use and wastewater management, recycling, reuse and pricing policy, and river basin management.
Our students are working on issues related to new waste streams such as plastic and e-waste; waste-to-energy options; biochar generation and use, groundwater contamination, and use of novel adsorbents and catalysts for degradation of pollutants."

"The School has been established on the premise that it will serve the public and industrial needs related to environmental requirements. It will strive to provide solutions to emerging problems and the needs of society that would include public, industry and the government. Our students will be prepared to undertake such challenges for the greater good of society. It will position itself to embark on new frontier areas of scientific and technological challenges. It will embrace new areas by means of co-operation and collaboration with other agencies and organisations."
