Development of autonomic function lab with feature extraction methods of ECG signals, such as that of wavelet transform give scope for ECG signal analysis for better assessment and accuracy and Simultaneous assessment of plasma cardio-metabolic biomarkers for various neurotic and psychotic patients. Disturbed cardiac autonomic dynamics in various mental health disorders increase mortality risk. Early diagnosis and treatment will have a positive impact on the prognosis of the psychological as well as cardiovascular outcome of the affected patients thus preventing of sudden cardiac death. Our research will aim to appeal for the introduction of state of art cardiovascular screening to such patients because it is still far from established practice especially in India where mental health is often neglected.
Few of my projects are mentioned below
-Cardiac autonomic activity and role of biomarkers in major depressive disorder (IIT KGP )
-Cardiovascular reactivity to mental and cold pressor test in offspring of hypertensive parents.(Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi)
-Cardiovascular reactivity to stress in long term yoga practitioners. (Sharda University, Noida)
-Comparative study of autonomic functions and cognitive functions in patients with primary open angle glaucoma and normal tension glaucoma. (PGIMS Rohtak).
